Let your jewellery shine again
Dona Aurora's jewellery is made of 925 silver, gold-plated silver, or 18+ carat gold.
With normal wear and tear, such as sweat from exercising, soap, and lotion, it's understandable that your jewellery will become a bit dirty and dull after a while. No problem! Below are some tips to make your jewellery shine again!
For all jewellery, take good care of it and try to avoid contact with chemicals, perfume and sweat.
Cleaning jewelry
Silver can become dull and dark over time. There are several ways to clean silver jewelry to keep it shining brightly.
You can polish them with a soft toothbrush and mild toothpaste. After polishing, dry them with a soft cloth, and your jewelry will shine like new again!
You can also thoroughly clean your jewelry with silver polishing cloths until it sparkles again. You can find them online or at your local drugstore.
Gold-plated jewelry requires special attention because it has a thin layer of gold that can be affected by external influences.
When cleaning, exercising, showering, or swimming, it's best to remove your gold-plated jewelry. Perfumes and chemicals can corrode your jewelry.
Clean your gold-plated jewelry with a soft, dry cloth.
Gold is durable and won't tarnish, but it can become somewhat dull or scratched with wear. You can wipe it clean with a soft, dry cloth, or restore its shine with a gold polishing cloth.
Gold jewelry without gemstones will regain its beautiful shine by soaking it in soapy water with a little green soap. Gently brush it with a soft toothbrush, rinse it with lukewarm water, and dry it with a soft cloth.
Gemstones are a natural product, and each stone is unique. Therefore, there may be slight variations in color and clarity, and some imperfections may be visible. If your gemstones become dull or oily from wearing, you can soak them in soapy water to restore their shine.
Make a lukewarm soapy solution with mild liquid dish soap and soak your jewelry in it. Gently polish your jewelry and gemstones with a clean, soft toothbrush. Rinse your jewelry in lukewarm water and dry it with a soft cloth.
Gold and silver polishing cloths/products also work well to make your gold jewelry and gemstones shine again.
